Tim Palm - Head Coach

Tim Palm has been a committed member of Cooper High School his entire life. A graduate of Cooper High School in 1988; he was a member of both the football and baseball teams during his high school years. During his time in college, Tim was the head 9th grade football coach at Cooper. After graduating from St. Cloud State with a degree in Education, Tim worked concurrently as the 10th grade head football coach and assistant varsity baseball coach.  This experience led him to the positions of offensive coordinator for the varsity football team (until 2007) and head baseball coach (to present). Tim has been a faculty member of Cooper High in the Phy. Ed. department for 14 years.  He has been a teacher in the Robbinsdale School District for 22 years. 

Bill Rooney -Varsity Assistant

Bill is entering his 20th season in the Cooper Hawks Baseball program.  He served his first 8 years as the JV coach, then spent 5 years as the 10th/B squad coach, and now is entering his 7th season as a Varsity assistant.  Bill is a graduate of Armstrong high school where he played baseball and hockey.  He went to Minnesota State Mankato where he earned a Health Science degree and was a 4 year letter winner in hockey.  Bill coached hockey at Cooper for 18 years.  He resides in Robbinsdale, with his wife Joanna, daughter Kendra (24) and son Trey (21).

Lee Spohn -Varsity Assistant

This is Coach Spohn's fourth year at Cooper High School.  Spohn is a
part of the social studies department at Cooper and teaches sections
of 12th Grade Government and 9th Grade Geography.  This will be Coach
Spohn's fourth season as a part of the Cooper Baseball program as well.
He graduated from Albany High School in 2009 where he played outfield
and pitcher and was a part of a state tournament baseball team as a
junior.  In college at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, Spohn
played three years of division III football as a defensive back.
Outside of school and coaching, Spohn enjoys being outdoors golfing,
spending time at the lake, and being at Target Field watching the
Minnesota Twins.
