\u2022 Records $2.8 billion in GLOBAL revenues from the segment in FY 2018<\/span><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Mumbai, India, March 4, 2019 :\u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/span>Booking.com<\/span>, the global leader in connecting travellers with the widest choice of incredible places to stay, today announced that it has reached a milestone of \u2018<\/span>140,000 reported local listings in India<\/strong>\u2019<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>of homes, apartments and other unique places to stay. This creates a new Industry benchmark in the overall \u2018<\/span>Alternative Accommodations<\/strong>\u2019 category in India and bears testimony to Booking.com\u2019s recent analysis which stated that 68% Indian travellers surveyed would prefer \u2018<\/span>Alternative Accommodations<\/strong>\u2019 for their travel in 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

Booking.com parent company Booking Holdings also recently announced some new data, showcasing Booking.com\u2019s efforts in the alternative accommodations space, including that\u00a0 Booking.com globally ended FY 2018 with 5.7 million reported listings in its\u00a0<\/strong>\u2018Alternative Accommodations<\/strong>\u2019\u00a0business, which is up\u00a018% year-over-year<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n

This resulted in the company recording\u00a0$2.8 billion in revenues<\/strong>\u00a0from this category in 2018,\u00a0representing approximately 20% of the company\u2019s overall revenue for the year<\/strong>. It also reached the important milestone of over\u00a0$1 billion in revenues in Q3 2018<\/strong>\u00a0alone. This category continues to grow faster the company\u2019s overall consolidated growth rate, with\u00a040% of Booking.com\u2019s active customers\u00a0<\/strong>globally booking an \u2018Alternative Accommodation<\/strong>\u2019 property at some point within the last 12 months.<\/span><\/p>\n
