According to\u00a0Prabhu Ram, Head \u2013 Industry Intelligence Group (IIG), CMR,<\/strong> \u201cOver the coming\u00a0<\/span>months, many smartphone brands would be looking to showing-off their prototype, or 5G-ready\u00a0<\/span>devices. The initial 5G-enabled devices would be at a high price point, and in the uber-premium\u00a0<\/span>segment.Smartphone brands, including OPPO and others, are likely to be the technology leaders in the 5G era.\u201d<\/span><\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n

CMR research points to 5G-enabled smartphone shipments in India potentially surpassing 140\u00a0<\/span>million by 2025, on the back of a slow and gradual uptake. 5G smartphone shipments are\u00a0<\/span>expected to grow by around 250% during this period.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAt CMR, we anticipate 5G to attain scale from 2022 onwards. As on date, there are various\u00a0<\/span>critical themes at play, including the impending 5G spectrum allocation later this year as well as\u00a0<\/span>the necessary technical and infrastructure upgradation required for 5G,\u201d added\u00a0Prabhu.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
